With a new Administration focused on Making America Healthy Again, what is the vision, role, and priorities of federal health agencies? How will the underlying business model governing the healthcare ecosystem and its incentives need to change to meet this vision? What structural and organizational changes need to occur within agencies? How will this change expectations for individual, State, and Federal roles in health care and disease prevention? What will these changes mean for federal research and Veteran care? This panel will explore these questions and what the changes might mean for technology needs, workforce, and industry partnerships.
Healthcare delivery is constantly evolving and looking at a range of technologies to enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery and better manage patients’ illnesses and health risks in a more personalized manner. Digital health technologies can include telemedicine, wearable devices, electronic health records, augmented and virtual reality, AI/ML and data analytics, smart devices, digital experience, and innovative approaches to regulatory and administrative healthcare processes. This panel will explore the state of digital health efforts across the federal health landscape, including an understanding of the opportunities, challenges, use cases, and the policy and governance needed around data to accelerate access and advancement of digital health technology.
